H. Chase Lenfest

H. Chase Lenfest gives back not only with his resources, but also with his heart. He strives not just to make a difference through financial contributions, but to play an active and personal role in bringing about change. Where others will make a donation and step aside, Chase will make a donation and step inside, into the neighborhoods and communities where opportunities and positive outlets are few and far between.

Chase is Chairman the Lenfest Media Group, LLC, which develops advertising and products for retail sale. He also owns and operates Lenfest Broadcasting, LLC, operating as WMCN-DTV Channel 44 an independent television station serving the Philadelphia region and Lenfest Capital, LLC, an investment company with diversified holdings in real estate and private equities. In addition, he is the majority owner of Broadway Systems, LLC, a software company.

A former member of the Board of Directors of the Police Athletic League, Mr. Lenfest has also served on the Board of Directors of SquashSmarts, Inc. between 2000 and 2002 and has served on their Advisory Board since 2002. He also served on the Capital Campaign Committee for Northern Home Children and Family Services. In addition, Chase is the President of The H. Chase and Ana Maria Lenfest Foundation, Inc. The Foundation began operations in 2002 and provides financial support for programs intended to make a positive impact on the lives of children primarily in the Philadelphia area, and through its wholly-owned subsidiary, 3890 N. 10th Street, LLC, it operates the Lenfest Center, which seeks to make a positive change on the Hunting Park neighborhood. Some of the organizations that have received funding include The Police Athletic League of Philadelphia, SquashSmarts, The Gesu School, the Face to Face at St. Vincent's summer camp, Philadelphia Outward Bound and The Joe Hand Boxing Gym.
Mr. Lenfest grew up in Huntingdon Valley and graduated from Upper Moreland High School before attending Yale University where he received his BA in Economics. He has two children Chase and Alexa
